Podolsk district court of Kyiv review a civil case by the с laim of I . Mend us’ to the Ukrainian Cinema Foundation established by the International Charitable Fund Ukraine 3000 headed by Mrs. Kateryna Yushchenko . I aroslav Me n dus ’ wh o has exclusive property rights to the film “ Orange Sky ” , a pply to the court to protect his rights due to the fact that the Ukrainian Cinema Foundation representing Ukraine included this film to the program of film festival “ Days of Ukrainian Cinema in Poland ” which held during the period from 17 to 25 November 2009 and presented for public screening. This action was illegal and without his permission.
T he plaintiff estimates the harm which caused by violations of intellectual property rights in the amount of $ 37.2 million and requests to charge it from the defendant. A press conference in the Information Agency “UNIAN” which took place on December 22, 2009 touched the legal problems of arose n conflict in the area of intellectual property .
